{"id":572,"date":"2024-09-01T14:12:11","date_gmt":"2024-09-01T12:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/?post_type=prodotti&#038;p=572"},"modified":"2026-03-13T11:54:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T10:54:35","slug":"co20","status":"publish","type":"prodotti","link":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/products\/co20\/","title":{"rendered":"CO20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.co20.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CO<sub>20<\/sub><\/a><\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is an <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">innovative and advanced tool designed and developed by TerrAria and made available since 2011, created as a support tool for signatories of the <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Covenant <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">o<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">f<\/span><\/b> <b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mayors<\/span><\/b> <span data-contrast=\"none\">(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/eu-mayors.ec.europa.eu\/it\/home?etrans=it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Covenant of Mayors -Europe<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, called to build energy-emission budgets for their area of competence and to define a concrete action plan to <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">achieve the goals set by the European Union <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">(reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030, strengthening resilience, reducing energy poverty). <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The software has been designed to <strong>allow periodic monitoring of the overall effectiveness of the intervention plan<\/strong>, also allowing the <strong>dissemination<\/strong> through the web of <strong>commitments made by the Agency<\/strong>. A system for the real-time monitoring of consumption of the utilities under the responsibility of the institution, called CO<sub>20<\/sub>Plus, was subsequently integrated into the CO20 software. With the presentation of the new Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy at the end of 2015, a new challenge has opened up: the introduction of the concepts of mitigation and adaptation to climate change in the new version of the software (CO<sub>20<\/sub>Adapt).<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Product Application<\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">CO<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><sub>20<\/sub><\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> is used by <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">more than 300 local governments <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">throughout Italy that have joined the Covenant of<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mayors for the definition of their <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/secap\/\">SECAP<\/a> (Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans)<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, the creation of energy<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">mission inventories and the definition of concrete actions to achieve the goals set by the EU. <\/span>In particular, CO<sub>20<\/sub> enables:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To build annual municipal <strong>energy-emission balances<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>ex-ante evaluation<\/strong> of the <strong>effectiveness<\/strong> of local <strong>interventions<\/strong> to achieve EU targets in terms of energy saving, emission reduction, increased production of energy from renewable sources, investment cost and payback time;<\/li>\n<li><strong>monitor<\/strong> the overall <strong>effectiveness<\/strong> of the Emergency Response Plan over time;<\/li>\n<li><strong>disseminate<\/strong> through the web the commitments made by the authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tool uses different data sources, integrating:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>existing databases, such as Inemar (<span data-teams=\"true\">air emissions inventory<\/span>), ISPRA (superior institute for environmental protection and research) and SIRENA (regional energy environment information system of the lombardy region), reported at municipal level;<\/li>\n<li>municipal context data from official sources such as ISTAT and ACI (automobile club of Italy);<\/li>\n<li>climate data, for the classification of Italian municipalities;<\/li>\n<li>specific local data, which can be entered, such as public sector consumption, data from distributors or local energy production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CO20.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1046 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CO20-300x226.png\" alt=\"Functional diagram of the CO20 software, developed by TerrAria to support municipalities adhering to the Covenant of Mayors. This allows the software to be adapted to multiple territorial scenarios and types of intervention, ensuring a detailed and reliable evaluation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intuitive map interface<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The software has an interactive map which displays the energy-emission balance on a territorial basis.
