{"id":519,"date":"2024-09-02T19:50:43","date_gmt":"2024-09-02T17:50:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/?post_type=servizio&#038;p=519"},"modified":"2026-04-21T17:00:57","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T15:00:57","slug":"decision-support-systems","status":"publish","type":"servizio","link":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/service\/decision-support-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"Decision support systems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TerrAria develops\u00a0<strong>Decision Support Systems\u00a0<\/strong>(DSS), i.e\u00a0<strong>web applications that support\u00a0<\/strong>decision makers\u00a0<strong>and engineers\u00a0<\/strong>in decision making in a variety of contexts including\u00a0<strong>air quality<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>hydrogeological and hydraulic natural hazards<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Public Health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These tools\u00a0<strong>integrate data<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>analytical models<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>advanced algorithms\u00a0<\/strong>to provide\u00a0<strong>timely and accurate information<\/strong>. They make it possible to\u00a0<strong>simulate scenarios, evaluate alternatives, and visualize potential impacts<\/strong>, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of decisions. DSS are\u00a0essential for addressing complex problems and ensuring informed, evidence-based choices, thereby optimizing resource management and strategic planning.<\/p>\n<p>The team, through also the use of\u00a0<strong>Artificial Intelligence\u00a0<\/strong>tools and a\u00a0<strong>modeling approach<\/strong>, also supports various entities such as local authorities in the preparation of Air Quality, Civil Protection and Public Health Plans.<\/p>\n<p>In the field of\u00a0<strong>air quality<\/strong>, TerrAria was responsible for developing the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/sherpa\/\"><strong>SHERPA<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Screening for High Emission Reduction Potentials on Air quality\u00a0software to identify the main macrosectors and pollutants on which to focus the air quality plan for better air quality effectiveness and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/sherpa-city\/\"><strong>SHERPA \u2013 City<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<strong>expressly dedicated to cities.\u00a0<\/strong>To\u00a0estimate the air quality and human health\u00a0<strong>impact of assessment scenarios on the Italian territory\u00a0<\/strong>TerrAria implemented the SIMBAD-HAM web application. Focusing on the Po Basin, TerrAria dealt with the REST application for air quality impact assessment of forecast and assessment emission scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>TerrAria also developed the modeling platforms\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/mars\/\"><strong>MARS<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/maqes\/\"><strong>MAQES<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(Multimodel Air Quality and Environment Suite), for the\u00a0<strong>evaluation of odor\u00a0<\/strong>that\u00a0<strong>pollutant impacts in the atmosphere.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To provide\u00a0<strong>planning support for regional and national policies for the reduction of greenhouse gases,\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0<strong>reduction of energy consumption\u00a0<\/strong>and the diffusion of renewable energy sources, the team implemented the\u00a0<strong>energy efficiency portal of the Lombardy Region,\u00a0<\/strong>called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/sirena20\/\"><strong>SIRENA20<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\nTerrAria also developed the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/edss\/\"><strong>Environmental Decision Support System (EDSS)<\/strong><\/a>, focused on the\u00a0<strong>efficiency of production processes of production chains<\/strong>, which allows the reduction from the point of view of the environmental footprint and thus achieve more sustainable production and consumption.<\/p>\n<p>In the area of\u00a0<strong>natural hazards of hydrogeological and hydraulic type,\u00a0<\/strong>TerrAria has designed and implemented\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/case-studies\/sinergie\/\"><strong>Sinergie<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0<strong>management, in monitoring and in forecasting of criticalities\u00a0<\/strong>resulting from these hazards.<\/p>\n<p>Another example of a DSS developed is\u00a0the Regional Housing Condition Observatory, a\u00a0tool to deliver the\u00a0<strong>analytical and business-intelligence services to support decision-making on housing and housing policy interventions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Analysis, forecasting and evaluation services for alternative scenarios\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"parent":0,"template":"","aree-servizi":[52],"class_list":["post-519","servizio","type-servizio","status-publish","hentry","aree-servizi-software-design-development"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/servizio\/519","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/servizio"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/servizio"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=519"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"aree-servizi","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.terraria.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/aree-servizi?post=519"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
