TerrAria develops\u00a0Decision Support Systems\u00a0<\/strong>(DSS), i.e\u00a0web applications that support\u00a0<\/strong>decision makers\u00a0and engineers\u00a0<\/strong>in decision making in a variety of contexts including\u00a0air quality<\/strong>,\u00a0hydrogeological and hydraulic natural hazards<\/strong>, and\u00a0Public Health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These tools\u00a0integrate data<\/strong>,\u00a0analytical models<\/strong>, and\u00a0advanced algorithms\u00a0<\/strong>to provide\u00a0timely and accurate information<\/strong>. They make it possible to\u00a0simulate scenarios, evaluate alternatives, and visualize potential impacts<\/strong>, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of decisions. DSS are\u00a0essential for addressing complex problems and ensuring informed, evidence-based choices, thereby optimizing resource management and strategic planning.<\/p>\n

The team, through also the use of\u00a0Artificial Intelligence\u00a0<\/strong>tools and a\u00a0modeling approach<\/strong>, also supports various entities such as local authorities in the preparation of Air Quality, Civil Protection and Public Health Plans.<\/p>\n

In the field of\u00a0air quality<\/strong>, TerrAria was responsible for developing the\u00a0SHERPA<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Screening for High Emission Reduction Potentials on Air quality\u00a0software to identify the main macrosectors and pollutants on which to focus the air quality plan for better air quality effectiveness and\u00a0SHERPA \u2013 City<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0expressly dedicated to cities.\u00a0<\/strong>To\u00a0estimate the air quality and human health\u00a0impact of assessment scenarios on the Italian territory\u00a0<\/strong>TerrAria implemented the SIMBAD-HAM web application. Focusing on the Po Basin, TerrAria dealt with the REST application for air quality impact assessment of forecast and assessment emission scenarios.<\/p>\n

TerrAria also developed the modeling platforms\u00a0MARS<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0MAQES<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(Multimodel Air Quality and Environment Suite), for the\u00a0evaluation of odor\u00a0<\/strong>that\u00a0pollutant impacts in the atmosphere.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To provide\u00a0planning support for regional and national policies for the reduction of greenhouse gases,\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0reduction of energy consumption\u00a0<\/strong>and the diffusion of renewable energy sources, the team implemented the\u00a0energy efficiency portal of the Lombardy Region,\u00a0<\/strong>called\u00a0SIRENA20<\/strong><\/a>.
\nTerrAria also developed the\u00a0Environmental Decision Support System (EDSS)<\/strong><\/a>, focused on the\u00a0efficiency of production processes of production chains<\/strong>, which allows the reduction from the point of view of the environmental footprint and thus achieve more sustainable production and consumption.<\/p>\n

In the area of\u00a0natural hazards of hydrogeological and hydraulic type,\u00a0<\/strong>TerrAria has designed and implemented\u00a0Sinergie<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0management, in monitoring and in forecasting of criticalities\u00a0<\/strong>resulting from these hazards.<\/p>\n

Another example of a DSS developed is\u00a0the Regional Housing Condition Observatory, a\u00a0tool to deliver the\u00a0analytical and business-intelligence services to support decision-making on housing and housing policy interventions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
